I think this blog will become really boring to the readers and great to me. I arrived at the paradise. I got the ferry boat with all kind of tourists, old men from Italy, Germany and Spain with their prostitutes, some of them with more than one, families with wife and red peppers sunburnt kids, hippies from 70’s, young ladies showing plastic boobs, athletes using cocaine on the deck and throwing beers’ cans on the sea, young Indians promoting a war with the ferry beside us, using beers’ can as ammo. It was far from anything that I was expecting. After this happy trip, I was rescued by the taxi boat on the deck which brought me here.. a isolated resort in the desert part of the Island… nothing else can happen. Boring for you, great for me…
Day 40 – Amazing racing II

It is the last part of the trip, I mean the last part which requires any planning or booking, or shuttle. I had to leave Phnom Phen at 5pm, and the goal was to get in Phuket at midnight. Asiaair line has lately been erratic, and I cant trust on their schedule anymore. In my first experience in Thai immigration I spent more than 2 hours in lines and others proceeds. In this time my luck again has helped me. I spent less than 5 minutes, and in 20 minutes and a good conversation with the check in of the Asiair I could get the first taking off to Phuket. Summarizing I was in Phuket at 9.40pm when I tasted the first thai scamming. I got the bargain van from the airport to the town. After 5 minutes the van stopped at the travel agency and all passengers had to get off the van and talk to a agent who was there just to help. The agent tried to convince me that I had to book a hotel in town and after in Phuket. I said that I didn’t want I just one a lift to the town. After 15 minutes of a terrible and stupid conversation the agent threw the bus ticket on the floor. I was really calm and patient I just repeated uncountable times that I didn’t want to book any hotel, I just want to go to town. After 10 minutes I pretty much just repeat the sentence: I am sorry I think you don’t understand me. I just want go to the town. I can help myself. The agent got mad and I was smiling still. I got the ticket back from the floor and calmly said to the other agent – I am sorry I don’t want and I wont book a hotel, Can I go back to the van? She said yes, and everybody else followed me. When I got back to the van a Canadian guy said: Hey man thank you, you made it clear to everybody. Obviously we arrived at the town and as soon as we left the van, a traveller said that there was good guest house one block away free and cheap. Indeed, midnight I was on a great bed.

December 31st, 2010 § 2 Comments
Nothing serious, but annoying. After 8 hours inside a bus. In a fuckin hot day, with a terrible air condicioning, I have finally arrived in Phnom Phen. My first providence was to buy some water. Well I was inside a simple store, when a motorcycle somehow got in the store, hitting me and another guy. Nothing really serious happened, but I got a cut in my left leg, and now I realised that I got the right side of back really swollen. To my cut I went to a pharmacy and I bought a cream… to my back I saw 10 minutes ago…I will be fine.

So after a long chat by phone whit visa, they told me that there wasnt conection between Cambodia and USA… so I will leave the next 72hours with just U$12,00. Let’s see. So due to this problem, I was just walking around the city… nothing else… tomorrow Phnom Phen.

Day 34 and 35 – the amazing race
December 30th, 2010 § Leave a Comment
I got up last morning (I am writing one day later) with everything packed. I had the hope to take a shower before to leave but there was no hot water and yesterday was the coldest day since I got in Kathmandu. My last day in Nepal was without a good shower.. I got the Taxi to the airport totally heartbroken. This part of the trip was just perfect, and I was wondering if the rest of trip would be the same. I have arrived in the airport 2 hours before the flight. The Kathmandu airport is very simple however with the best security already seen. You have to pass through 3 x-rays, and 2 bag inspections. There are just 4 gates, all flights departure from those gates, making the place naturally confused and crowed. Everything went fine although one hour delay. The race started in Bangkok. I had three missions in Bangkok before to go to Cambodia. The first one was re-packing my stuffs now shifting to the summer mode. The second thing was to find a luggage store and the last one would be get the bust to Poipet on the Cambodia’s border to cross it at the first time at morning. The first and second missions were pretty easy. The third one….
According to the information bureau there will bus to Poipet all night. So I got a taxi to the bus station… 42km away. I got there around 10.30pm, and I got the right information, the last bus had left at 9pm. The next one, would leave at 5am. So I would spend my first night in Thailand sleeping on the floor. It wasn’t so bad in fact. If I took the bus at 5.am, around 10am I would be on the border and I would be in Siam Reap, already in Cambodia territory around 6pm. It was the original plan. After 20m on the floor a taxi driver approached me. He has offered to go to Pouipet for Bth400. The price was cheaper than the Bus ticket. After the email from Marco, and after reading the Lonely Planet I didn’t accept. It was really strange and cheap. After 10 more minutes to military guys got a sit beside me, and once again the driver has offered his service. The 2 militaries guys have accept the offered and one of those one explained me that the driver had to go to Poipet for a tour he was basically looking for people to fill the taxi, and pay the fuel. So this time I accepted. Around 1am I was on the border and ask the driver to drive me to a hotel. Firstly he show me the border, and after he looked for a hotel. Some of them were closed, but we find one 500m away from the border. I had a deal with the owner a cheaper rate because I would leave at very early morning. I paid Bth200 and I would have to leave at 6am.
I couldn’t slept immediately, the Motel has a great variety of pornos, and I had to check them out before I sleep. At 6am the owner knocked my door. He gave 10 more minutes it was enough to take my shower.
I was on the line to cross the border 6.50am. it couldn’t be better. At 7.16am I had everything solved at the immigration and I was at Cambodia side. The Cambodian government provides a free shuttle from the Border to the Bus Station. When I was waiting for the bus I met to Finish guys who were also waiting for the shuttle. After a quick chat we agreed in share a taxi to Siam Reap. Around 8am we were inside the taxi and before 10am we were in hostel in Siam Reap. I was so happy and excited that I rented a bike straight way. I have gone to all temples and took great photos. When I’ve got back I went out whit the Finish guys for a dinner.
Everything was so perfect, impossible to believe. I have been the luckiest guy in the world.
About the temple? Nothing to say… just see the photos
it was my hotel on the boarder
